Pioppo snow {Springtime in the mountains}

Sulmona is such a wonderful little gem in the mountains.  A beautiful sight during springtime in Italy is walking down the cobblestone streets and noticing all the Pioppo snow in the air, these trees release mass amounts of pollen that float through the air and cause havoc among us sensitive people.  I've been trying to capture these little balls of pollen on film...this is Piazza Garibaldi, a view from the balcony:

What to do when allergies get the best of you? Check-out the local farmacia!

When I entered the main farmacia in town, I was stunned by the huge "Senza Glutine" section:

This farmacia is a g-free gold mine....with a consultant!

They have a whole freezer packed full of g-free goodies! Tiramisu...

Pasta, canneloni...

I really had to control myself.  So many types of flour for pizza, pasta, & pastry.

For those of you who think pasta & pizza are a no no, let's check-out the dinner I had at Tempo Perso.

From the palazzo I walked up the stairs and through the ancient aqueduct...

to Tempo Perso {lost time}, a popular enoteca & pizzeria, has selections for celiacs on the menu...
The g-free bread so so wonderful!

with a fresh salad, and

a veggie, g-free rustic pizza - what a relief!

Pizza in Italy for us is possible, and delicious!

Love the clock on the wall at Tempo Perso

 Buona notte!
